How TO Use Quick Nav And understanding The Different Modes in Mac OS VoiceOver For Blind Mac Users
Quick Nav, it’s one of the Voiceover features that i think is often misunderstood, and under valued and under used if not misused. I think a lot of people think of it only as a way to use VoiceOver one handed. Simply a way to not have to hold down the VO key while navigating with VoiceOver. Often it seems to be thought of and taught as a”hack” to simplify VoiceOver and make it work similar to other screen readers on other platforms. However this practice can not only be limiting as it leaves a lot of functionality and flexibility on the table, but it can also lead to getting into situations that leaves one to believe VoiceOver is confusing or difficult and doesn’t make sense.
Today, lets see if we can’t demystify this feature of VoiceOver and unlock some of the power behind it to make using your Mac a smoother and more efficient experience. Learn how Quick Nav is more than just a way to use VoiceOver one handed. It can get quite powerful and flexible and we’ll cover it all in this tutorial.
Also if you would like to set your VO key to only be CapsLock like I recommend, see How To Set VoiceOver TO Use CapsLock Only For Blind mac OS Users.
